Maintenance Technician
Job summary:
This position supports plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills along with the ability to identify issues quickly and perform effective repairs in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and support production goals
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control systems across a variety of industrial equipment
* Execute maintenance work orders and initiate additional repairs based on inspection findings
* Improve equipment performance and reliability through timely completion of maintenance tasks
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system updates
* Review maintenance data and recommend improvements to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency
* Coordinate with leadership to request necessary parts and materials for repairs
* Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations, including OSHA and PSM standards
* Monitor maintenance performance metrics and contribute to meeting departmental goals
* Diagnose and repair systems involving pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components
* Continuously build technical skills through training and hands-on experience
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
* Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines
* Support additional maintenance and operational needs as required
Requirements:
* Ability to work a full-time schedule in a manufacturing environment
* High school diploma or GED required
* 1-2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E safety standards
* Experience installing new equipment and modifying existing systems
* Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), including control charts and process capability
* Strong mechanical skills including the ability to read pneumatic schematics and troubleshoot equipment components
* Electrical troubleshooting experience, including reading schematics, working with PLCs, and basic ladder logic knowledge
* Familiarity with motors, drives, valves, belts, and control panels
* Basic computer proficiency and strong communication skills
