Senior Process Engineer – Seats Production
The Senior Process Engineer – Seats Production is responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving manufacturing processes to drive efficiency, quality, safety, and cost performance. This role applies industrial engineering principles to optimize labor, material flow, equipment utilization, and overall production systems. You will partner closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and automation teams to deliver data-driven improvements and support new program launches and capacity growth.

Process Design and Optimization
Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Conduct time studies, work measurement analysis, and line balancing. Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen, 5S, and SMED.

Layout and Material Flow
Design plant layouts, workstation ergonomics, and optimized material flow. Improve internal logistics using tools such as kanban systems and advanced material handling concepts. Ensure efficient space utilization and maintain smooth production workflows.

Capacity Planning and Resource Management
Analyze production capacity and forecast requirements based on business needs. Plan manpower, equipment, and tooling for both new and existing programs. Support capital investment decisions tied to manufacturing improvements and expansion.

Cost Analysis and Continuous Improvement
Perform detailed cost analysis on manufacturing processes and recommend improvements. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction and productivity gains. Monitor and improve KPIs including cycle time, OEE, and scrap rates.

Ensure all processes meet established quality standards and requirements. Integrate ergonomic and safety considerations into process design. Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related defects.

New Program Support
Participate in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/A) reviews. Support launch readiness activities by validating process capability. Develop Process FMEA, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.

What You Bring to the Team
Education and Experience
12+ years of automotive manufacturing experience with a Bachelor's degree, 8+ years with a Master’s degree, or 5+ years with a PhD (or equivalent experience).
Experience working with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP systems.
Automotive OEM experience preferred.
Experience with Just-In-Time manufacturing environments.

Working Conditions
This role operates in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to moving machinery and industrial noise. Flexibility to support different shifts, including evenings and weekends, may be required.

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is $114,612 to $171,918 USD. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skillset, education, and business needs.
