Job Description
Job Title: Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Location: Bronx, NY 10456
Shift: Days/Evening/Night shift available (Every other weekend required)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks with a strong possibility of extension
Pay range: $21-24/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care and assist adult psychiatric patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Perform routine safety checks, room checks, and 15-minute patient rounding
• Monitor and document patient behaviors, observations, and changes in condition
• Obtain and record vital signs, weights, blood glucose checks, and other patient care activities
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed
• Assist during behavioral emergencies and utilize de-escalation techniques when required
• Float to other psychiatric units, crisis areas, detox, rehabilitation, and pediatric psych units as needed
Required Qualifications:
• Patient Care Technician (CPCT) certification
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric patient care experience
• Previous phlebotomy experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous acute care psychiatric experience
• Experience working in behavioral health, crisis intervention, detox, or rehabilitation settings
