Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians, Family Medicine Physicians, and Internal Medicine Physicians with Emergency Department experience for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in the mountains of Southwest Virginia.

This assignment offers the opportunity to practice broad-spectrum Emergency Medicine in a community-focused hospital serving patients throughout Virginia, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Providers benefit from manageable patient volumes, a supportive clinical environment, and the ability to make a meaningful impact in an underserved region.

Unlike large urban Emergency Departments, this practice provides physicians with the opportunity to focus on patient care while maintaining a sustainable clinical pace and long-term scheduling flexibility.

Coverage Needed

All Shifts: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Current Coverage Needs

Practice Environment

• Community-based Emergency Department
• Approximately 10,000 annual visits
• Established nursing and support staff
• Broad patient acuity and pathology
• Opportunity to practice comprehensive Emergency Medicine
• Serves communities across Virginia, Kentucky, and West Virginia

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of Emergency Department patients
• Management of acute medical and traumatic presentations
• Emergency procedures within physician scope of practice
• Patient disposition and transfer coordination as appropriate
• Documentation and clinical decision making
• Collaboration with nursing and hospital support teams

Candidate Requirements
Accepted Board Certifications

• Emergency Medicine
• Family Medicine
• Internal Medicine

Additional Requirements

• Active Virginia Medical License
• Active DEA Registration
• Recent Emergency Department experience

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
