Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a California licensed Family Medicine physician (MD) for an outpatient locum tenens opportunity in Gilroy, California. This role covers all ages (kids and adults) and may include split time across brick-and-mortar, school-based, and mobile clinic settings. Scheduled coverage only (no call) with EPIC charting, plus the ability to supervise midlevel providers.

Opportunity Details

• Location: Gilroy, California
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Setting: Outpatient clinic (brick-and-mortar with possible split time across school-based and mobile clinics)
• Coverage: Scheduled coverage only; no call
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Length: 13–26 weeks

Schedule Details

• Days/Hours: 5x8-hour days (10:00 AM–7:00 PM)

Clinical Scope

• Provide outpatient primary care for all ages (kids and adults)
• Support care across clinic types: brick-and-mortar, school-based, and mobile clinics
• Supervise midlevel providers (physician oversight required)
• Patient volume target: average daily census 18 (21+ preferred)
• Procedures and additional clinical details: discussed during the interview

Practice Environment

• Outpatient clinic setting with possible split time across brick-and-mortar, school-based, and mobile clinics
• EPIC charting
• All-ages patient population (kids and adults)

Requirements

• MD (Family Medicine physician role)
• Active California medical license (in-hand)
• DEA required
• BLS required
• 2+ years of relevant work experience
• Ability to supervise midlevel providers
• Board Certification: not required; Board Eligible accepted; Board Certified preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Board Certified Family Medicine (preferred)
• Experience comfortable with outpatient care for both pediatric and adult patients
• Experience supervising midlevel providers
