About the Position
LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Obstetrics and Gynecology MD in Socorro, New Mexico, 87801!
Our client is urgently seeking a skilled Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 9-day assignment in New Mexico, commencing Aug 5, 2026. This critical role requires expertise in both labor and delivery, managing low and high-risk pregnancies, FHR interpretation, and performing routine and complicated deliveries. The Physician will also be responsible for surgical gynecology, including D&C, hysterectomy, and various laparoscopic procedures, contributing significantly to patient care within a dynamic clinical environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage low and high-risk pregnancies, including those with pre-existing problems, history of twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis, or hyperemesis.
- Perform Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) interpretation using NST/CST/FSE.
- Conduct and interpret OB ultrasounds, including Level I/screening (viability) and Level II/targeted (anatomic).
- Execute routine deliveries, including vaginal and low forceps, and make C-section decisions.
- Handle complicated deliveries such as C-sections, breech presentations, multiple births, and abruptions.
- Perform repair of third and fourth-degree lacerations.
- Undertake surgical gynecology procedures including D&C, hysterectomy, uterine suspension, anterior/posterior repair, and tumor resection.
- Perform incontinence and infertility procedures, repair of bowel injury, and appendectomy.
- Conduct laparoscopic diagnostic and minor procedures such as tubal ligation and chromal tubation.
- Execute operative and major laparoscopic procedures, including ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive adhesiolysis.
- Manage an average of 8-10 deliveries per month and fewer than 15 patients per day in clinic.
- Address occasional high-risk cases, with a primary focus on low-risk patients, maintaining a C-section rate around 21%.
