About us
Eastern Orange Ambulatory Surgery Center (EOASC) is an accredited ambulatory health care provider in Orange County, New York, providing quality and convenient same-day surgery since its opening in 2007 at the Cornwall Medical Pavilion. The Center offers a range of specialized surgical services for Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Ocular Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, and Podiatry.
Our 18,000 square-foot facility features two procedure rooms and four operating suites equipped with advanced arthroscopic and endoscopic systems that allow surgeons to perform minimally invasive or open surgeries.
Duties:
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members during the procedure.
- Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient care tasks, including positioning patients, applying dressings, and monitoring vital signs.
- Collect and document patient data, including medical history and surgical outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe surgical environment.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems, such as ECW and Visions.
- Experience working with patients of all ages.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and surgical procedures.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
- Proficient in collecting and documenting patient data accurately.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments used in surgical procedures.
