Business Analysis & Quality Assurance Analyst
One of the top respected financial institutions in Topeka, KS is now seeking a Business Analysis / Quality Assurance Analyst to support business and technology initiatives in an Agile environment for this growing team. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working between business users, IT teams, vendors, and systems to help deliver practical technology solutions.
Position Summary
The Business Analysis & Quality Assurance Analyst will help define and prioritize business requirements, configure and support packaged software, execute testing plans, track and resolve defects, train end users, and contribute to process improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, clear communication, and a team-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business users and IT colleagues to deliver technology solutions
- Gather, document, and help prioritize business and system requirements
- Configure packaged software and support system upgrades
- Prepare and execute test plans, including functional, regression, UAT, and defect validation
- Track issues, document defects, and help ensure high-quality delivery
- Support end users through system training, troubleshooting, and process guidance
- Contribute to project updates, process improvement, and documentation
- For Level II candidates: lead requirements management, collaborate with vendors, serve as a subject matter expert, and mentor others
Ideal Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- 1–2 years of related experience for Level I; 3–5 years for Level II
- Experience in business analysis, quality assurance, software testing, application support, systems analysis, or implementation support
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
Preferred Experience
- Financial services, banking, credit union, mortgage, fintech, or regulated industry experience
- Agile/Scrum project experience
- Experience with packaged software configuration, testing, or upgrades
- Familiarity with database queries, web applications, programming concepts, or database design
- Experience with test automation concepts or QA tools
- Prior experience as a subject matter expert, trainer, or mentor
