DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position oversees complex transportation construction projects and ensures work meets required plans and standards. The role involves leadership, coordination, and technical judgment across all phases of highway construction. As a Transportation Construction Manager 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Project Oversight: Manage construction activities across multiple sites to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
- Technical Guidance: Interpret project designs, resolve discrepancies, and provide direction to maintain project quality
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work with municipalities, utilities, property owners, and emergency services to address issues and maintain progress
- Documentation Management: Prepare reports, track materials, process work orders, and oversee project records and payments
- Supervisory Duties: Assign tasks, evaluate staff performance, provide coaching, and manage training and personnel needs
- Construction Review: Oversee inspections, review designs for constructability, and support scheduling and environmental practices

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may be eligible for alternative work schedule, per the manager's approval.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week, per the manager's approval. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,736.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of experience in construction inspection, three of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity, and graduation from high school or equivalent certification or formal training. Completion of a training program in construction inspection sanctioned by the using agency may be substituted for high school graduation. An Associate Degree in an engineering or closely related technology may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.
