Dentist - SCI Huntingdon (Part-time)

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role focuses on providing consistent and compassionate dental care to the inmate population at SCI Huntingdon. You will work closely with auxiliary staff while maintaining a reliable weekday schedule. As a Dentist, you will perform the following duties:

• Patient Care: Deliver basic dental exams and treatments for individuals in the facility
• Clinical Assessment: Evaluate oral health needs and determine appropriate treatment options
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with auxiliary staff to ensure smooth daily operations
• Record Maintenance: Document dental findings and update patient records accurately
• Preventive Education: Guide patients on healthy oral care practices
• Treatment Planning: Develop and implement appropriate dental treatment plans

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Part-time employment, up to 30 hours per week
• The work schedule is to be determined. You will not be required to work weekends.
• Eligible for full retirement benefits as early as age 55

• Hourly rate: In some cases, the hourly rate may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $83.27 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Graduation from an approved school of dentistry.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Special Requirement:

• You must possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirement:

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
