Job Type: Permanent | Part-Time (24 hours/week)
Shift: Nights (2 x 12-hour shifts per week, varied schedule)
Pay Rate: Starting at $40/hour (based on experience and education)
Preference: Local candidates preferred
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. The role involves working closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality acute and critical care services in a hospital setting.
This position also includes training responsibilities and serving as a resource within the Respiratory Therapy department.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders
- Manage ventilators, BiPAP, and CPAP equipment
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis
- Administer respiratory medications via nebulizer and metered-dose inhaler (MDI)
- Participate in patient care planning as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Cross-train in pulmonary function testing (PFT) procedures
- Support acute and critical care services as required
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with hospital protocols
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy (Required)
- Active Respiratory Therapist License (Required)
- BLS Certification (AHA) – Required
- ACLS Certification – Required
- Ability to maintain all required licensure and certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- NRP Certification (Highly Preferred)
- Prior hospital or critical care experience
- Experience with ventilators and respiratory diagnostic equipment
