Job Description
3rd Shift Maintenance Technician
This role focuses on maintaining and repairing industrial production equipment on the 3rd shift, with approximately 70% mechanical and 30% electrical responsibilities. You will support a high-volume manufacturing environment by troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring reliable operation of forming mills, coating lines, cutting machines, extrusion units, conveyors, and related systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform approximately 70% mechanical and 30% electrical maintenance on production equipment, including forming mills, coating lines, cutting machines, extrusion units, conveyors, plating lines, and related systems.
- Maintain and repair secondary equipment such as pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, motors (AC/DC), gears, shifters, and associated mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V three-phase, 120V single phase, and 24V AC/DC, including both single-phase and three-phase circuits.
- Diagnose and repair electrical components such as limit switches, proximity switches, sensors, motors, drives, and control devices.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on all assigned equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics to support troubleshooting, repairs, and installations.
- Perform MIG welding and some ARC (stick) welding to repair or fabricate parts and components as needed.
- Disassemble machine components, repair or replace parts, and rebuild equipment to restore proper operation.
- Carry out general building maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, changing lights, painting, and other facility upkeep as required.
- Clean furnaces and related equipment by using rods and tools to clear raw materials from pipes and internal passages.
- Use a volt meter and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical issues safely and accurately.
- Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures while working on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Lift and move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds in a safe and controlled manner.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to minimize downtime and support continuous operation of the facility.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage as required by site procedures.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ARCHBOLD, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
