Job Title: Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Mechanic to diagnose and repair mechanical issues on commercial and light-duty vehicles. In this role, you will perform brake, suspension, and alignment work, complete preventative maintenance services, and ensure vehicles are safe and reliable for customers. You will use a variety of shop tools and diagnostic equipment while maintaining accurate service documentation and a clean, safe work area.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on commercial and light-duty vehicles.
- Perform brake service, suspension repairs, and alignment work to manufacturer and shop standards.
- Complete preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, belts, hoses, and fluid checks.
- Inspect vehicles for safety concerns, wear, and additional mechanical issues, and communicate findings to the appropriate parties.
- Operate shop tools and equipment such as air tools, impact guns, hydraulic lifts, and diagnostic scanners safely and effectively.
- Document all work performed in shop systems with clear, accurate, and timely entries.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including proper storage and handling of tools and equipment.
- Follow shop procedures and safety protocols while working on vehicles and using equipment.
- Lift and move parts, tires, and equipment weighing over 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service for all vehicles.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of mechanical experience working on vehicles or related equipment.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues on commercial and light-duty vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to perform brake, suspension, and alignment work.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes and fluid checks.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools used in automotive repair.
- Ability to operate air tools, impact guns, hydraulic lifts, and diagnostic scanners safely.
- Capability to inspect vehicles thoroughly for additional problems and safety concerns.
- Physical ability to lift over 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the day.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to document work accurately in shop systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics in a mechanical or automotive setting.
- Experience in preventive maintenance programs for commercial or light-duty vehicles.
- Familiarity with tire shop operations and related services.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain an orderly work area.
- Commitment to safety practices and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Willingness to learn new diagnostic tools, systems, and repair techniques.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and leadership.

Work Environment
This role is based in a tire shop environment where you will be on your feet all day working with hand and power tools. You can expect a hands-on, physically active setting where it is normal to get dirty while handling tires, parts, and equipment. The shop uses air tools, impact guns, hydraulic lifts, and diagnostic scanners as part of daily operations. The environment emphasizes safety and organization while supporting efficient, high-volume vehicle service.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
