Special Education Teacher in Peever, SD

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in a Special Education setting or working with students who have learning or behavioral challenges is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-class assistance to students with special needs under the direction of the classroom teacher
• Offer one-on-one lesson support and guidance utilizing provided curriculum plans
• Assist in the resource room with individual or small group instruction and support
• Encourage student participation and monitor progress, adapting support as needed
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
• Support classroom management and foster positive behaviors alongside the teacher and behavior team
• Participate in training and district onboarding, adhering to all required policies and procedures
