School Psychologist Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for middle and high school students.
  • Complete eligibility determinations and develop recommendations for special education services.
  • Support a large and active Section 504 population, including evaluations, accommodations, and compliance monitoring.
  • Collaborate closely with the school social worker, educators, administrators, and related service providers.
  • Assist students transitioning from homeschooling into a traditional school environment.
  • Participate in intervention planning, data review meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Provide consultation regarding academic, behavioral, social, and emotional concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

School Psychologist Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio School Psychologist license or certification.
  • Master's, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
  • Experience with psychoeducational assessments, special education eligibility, and 504 plans.
  • Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and best practices in school-based mental health.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and school personnel.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience serving grades 7–12.
  • Familiarity with supporting students transitioning from homeschool settings.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and complex educational needs.
  • Strong parent engagement and consultation skills.
