Job Description
As a laborer, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within the mill by clearing lumber, debris, and obstructions along conveyors and production lines. You will be responsible for sweeping, shoveling, and removing sawdust, scrap wood, and waste materials to maintain cleanliness and safety in the mill. Additionally, you will pile, sort, and load lumber onto carts or racks for transport or further processing, clean and clear automatic conveyor systems to prevent jams, and assist machine operators and production staff as needed. Adhering to all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and mill guidelines is essential.
Responsibilities
- Clear lumber, debris, and obstructions to maintain smooth movement along conveyors and production lines.
- Sweep, shovel, and remove sawdust, scrap wood, and waste materials to keep the mill clean and safe.
- Pile, sort, and load lumber onto carts or racks for transport or further processing.
- Clean and clear automatic conveyor systems to prevent jams and ensure continuous operation.
- Assist machine operators and production staff as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and mill guidelines.
- Lift 50+ pounds as needed.
- General labor experience
- Ability to use hand tools
- Production experience
- Construction experience
- Proficiency in using power tools
- Forklift operation skills
- Minimum of 6 months of work history
- Positive reference
- Ability to work on feet for 10 hours a day

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
