About the Role
Allmed Staffing is hiring Clinical Dietetic Technicians (CDTs) to support Nutrition and Food Services at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center in Bay Pines, FL. This is a meaningful opportunity to serve our nation's Veterans in a structured clinical environment. Positions are available across day and evening shifts, 7 days a week including holidays.
Shifts Available:
- 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
What You'll Do
- Process and manage patient diet orders, meal tickets, and diet changes using Computrition and Vista
- Take bedside and phone-based meal orders through the Room Service Connect (RMS) system
- Monitor Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers (ADT) and update systems accordingly
- Ensure meal trays comply with therapeutic diet orders and patient food allergies
- Conduct tray accuracy checks and patient satisfaction surveys
- Collect patient dietary history and preferences to support Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs)
- Collaborate with nursing, RDN, and food service teams
- Follow all FDA Food Code 2022 and VHA Directive 1439 standards
Requirements
- Experience in hospital food service, tray assembly, or clinical nutrition support
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets (renal, diabetic, cardiac, IDDSI dysphagia levels, etc.)
- Proficiency with basic computer functions (email, data entry, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours and lift up to 35 lbs
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a VA background investigation and obtain a PIV badge
Credentials — one of the following required:
- Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR) (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree or at least 24 semester hours in a nutrition-related field
Compensation
- $20–$25/hr depending on credentials and experience
- DTR-credentialed candidates will be considered for the higher end of the range
