The Packaging Operator on 3rd shift plays a key role in monitoring the assembly line for food products, packaging finished goods for shipment, and maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant production environment. This role involves consistent physical activity, attention to detail, and adherence to food safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards while working overnight hours.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the assembly line to ensure food products move efficiently and consistently through production.
- Package finished food products according to established procedures and quality standards for shipment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly while standing for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
- Clean production floors, equipment, and work areas to maintain a sanitary and organized facility.
- Label finished goods accurately and verify that all required information appears correctly on packaging.
- Perform visual inspections of packaging to identify defects, damage, or labeling issues and remove nonconforming products.
- Follow all GMP and food safety guidelines, including hygiene, cleanliness, and handling requirements.
- Work collaboratively with production team members to meet daily output, quality, and safety goals.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all shift schedules, including occasional overtime, to support production demands.

Work Environment
This role is based in a GMP-regulated food production facility on 3rd shift, working from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, with occasional overtime. The environment requires strict adherence to hygiene and safety standards, including no jewelry, false eyelashes, or piercings while on the production floor. Some areas of the facility can be cold, and jackets are provided for comfort. The production floor is wet but very well lit and maintained to be relatively comfortable. The work involves standing for the full shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working around food products that may contain allergens, while using standard packaging and cleaning equipment in a structured, process-driven setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.21 - $20.66/hr.
