Job Title: Production Operator
Job Description

We are seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Production Operator. This position involves operating machines, utilizing hand tools, measuring materials, and weighing raw materials. Candidates must be available to work some Saturdays during peak seasons, with a minimum of two Saturdays per month. The role requires heavy lifting up to 50 pounds and working in a hotter environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in heavy machine operation or a construction background.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery efficiently and safely.
  • Utilize hand and power tools for assembly and finishing tasks.
  • Measure and weigh raw materials accurately.
  • Clean products and add accessories as needed.
  • Label and organize orders systematically.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds during operations.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in machine operation or construction.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and read basic weighing machines.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • No high school diploma required.

Work Environment

The facility operates on three shifts: 1st shift from 6:45 am to 3:15 pm, 2nd shift from 2:45 pm to 11:15 pm, and 3rd shift from 10:45 pm to 7:15 am. The environment is hot due to the rotational molding machines which act as ovens to harden the plastic. Employees are trained to operate machinery and assist in various tasks including weighing and assembling products using basic hand and power tools.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.00/hr.
