Medical Office Assistant

Must-have

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification.
• BLS
• 2+ yrs experience as a Medical Assistant

Plusses

• CMA, RMA or AAMA (through an approved/accredited organization).
• Wound Care experience or willing to work in Wound Care
• EPIC experience

Insight Global is looking for a Medical Assistant for the Wound Care Center to perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to help provide care to patients, support, providers, and keep office operations running smoothly.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Accurately register and schedule patients; print provider schedules.
2. Maintain adequate inventory of medical and office supplies in all areas.
3. Process clinical supply orders per practice standards.
4. Follow QA/QC standards, complete lab requests, referrals, health forms, and logs per regulations. Administer injections, EKGs, spirometry, phlebotomy, and therapeutic treatments as directed.
5. Verify patient eligibility (e.g., Medicaid EVS); identify need for referrals or preauthorization’s.
6. Answer and screen calls, greet patients professionally, and uphold HIPAA guidelines.
7. Ensure accurate, timely EHR data entry; access records only as required for duties.
8. Obtain and document vital signs; interview, triage, and assist providers during exams.
9. Demonstrate I.C.A.R.E. behaviors to enhance patient experience.
10. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
