Job Title: Material Handler / Reach Truck Operator | $20+HR | 11AM-7:30PM
Job Description
This role involves safely and efficiently handling materials in a warehouse environment, with a primary focus on operating a reach truck throughout the shift. You will load, unload, move, and store materials, maintain accurate inventory records, and support daily production activities while following all safety procedures. This is a first-shift position from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Operate a reach truck for the majority of the shift to move materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
- Load, unload, and move materials within or near the work site using material handling equipment and manual methods.
- Manually move materials onto or from pallets, shelves, and storage locations.
- Convey materials from storage or work areas to designated locations as directed.
- Inspect materials for quality and defects and report any issues promptly.
- Identify materials accurately by part number or written description.
- Use an RF scanner to locate, pick, and track inventory and orders.
- Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheets.
- Assemble crates and containers to hold products when required.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Clean and maintain the work area, machines, and equipment to support a safe and organized environment.
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, and regulations at all times.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required using proper techniques and material handling equipment.
- Walk and stand throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders and material movements.
- Perform stooping and kneeling when filling orders or putting away products at floor-level locations.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in material handling or a closely related warehouse role.
- Proven experience operating Crown brand reach trucks.
- Demonstrated forklift and reach truck operating skills in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to use RF scanners for inventory, picking, and tracking.
- Experience with inventory processes, including picking, packing, and material movement.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time during the entire shift.
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds and handle heavier items with assistance.
- Capability to lift, twist, and carry 50–75 pounds and manipulate up to 160 pounds of product using material handling equipment.
- Ability to use pallet jacks to move skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds.
- Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
- Strong attention to detail for identifying parts by number or description and accurately completing production and inventory records.

Work Environment
This position is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment, where you may experience cold, heat, damp, or humid conditions depending on the season. You will work around loud noise, dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles such as forklifts and reach trucks. The role requires extensive walking and standing throughout the warehouse, as well as regular use of reach trucks, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment. You will occasionally sit when operating sit-down equipment, and you will frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials of varying weights, including heavier items with assistance and equipment. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
