JOB SUMMARY
The Composite Tech I performs fabrication activities involving a wide range of composite materials. Responsibilities include assembling sub-assemblies and armor panel assemblies using hand and power tools, applying release agents, adhesives, and resins, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with tasks that may also include aircraft seat cushion component assembly.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform fabrication of composite materials using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and power tools for cutting, trimming, and grinding.
• Apply and mix release agents, sealants, solvents, adhesives, and resins.
• Use measuring instruments such as scales and calipers to ensure accuracy.
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Stand for extended shifts (up to ten hours).
• Perform additional tasks related to aircraft seat cushion component assembly, including bonding, cutting, and grinding of foam, plastics, and laminated materials.
• Complete assigned tasks within established quality levels and timeframes.
Required Qualifications
• Ability to use both hands for manipulating and constructing composite assemblies.
• Ability to move, pull, lift, and transfer products weighing up to 40 lbs unaided.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and work order information.
• High School Diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
• Technical institute certifications or degree in a related field.
• Combination of technical training and education in composite or production assembly.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a production assembly environment or technical schooling in related areas.
Certifications
• Must be able to pass a respirator physical test.
