Job Description
We are looking for an attorney to join a respected plaintiff-side practice in Coventry, Rhode Island Area, focused on employment and civil rights matters. This role offers the chance to handle meaningful litigation work from initial case evaluation through trial preparation and resolution while working in a collaborative, high-performance environment. Responsibilities:
• Manage a personal docket of employment litigation matters from intake through settlement, dispositive motion practice, or trial in state, federal, and administrative forums.
• Interview clients, assess claims, and maintain consistent communication throughout each phase of representation to deliver a high level of client service.
• Prepare persuasive pleadings, written motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation materials that support case strategy.
• Take and defend depositions, develop factual records, and coordinate evidence gathering to strengthen claims and prepare matters for resolution or trial.
• Appear regularly before courts and administrative bodies for conferences, hearings, and other proceedings related to active cases.
• Contribute to case strategy by evaluating legal issues, identifying risks, and shaping arguments for employment and related civil rights matters.
• Assist with litigation involving alleged civil rights violations, including matters connected to unlawful searches or excessive force, as needed.
• Work independently while partnering with paralegal and administrative team members to keep cases organized, moving, and trial-ready.
