Job Title: Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Job Description

This full-time Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician role offers the opportunity to work in a growing telehealth-focused compounding pharmacy based in Jupiter, Florida. You will prepare high-quality sterile and non-sterile compounded medications for patients and clinics nationwide while adhering to state and national regulatory guidelines. The position focuses on daily sterile IV compounding and advanced sterile techniques, with the opportunity to expand your skills in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily sterile IV compounding in accordance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines and Category 3 compliance requirements.
  • Compound a variety of dosage forms, including capsules, nasal sprays, creams, troches, injectables, and peptides, following established formulations and procedures.
  • Apply proper sterile gowning, sterile sampling, sterile fingertip glove techniques, and sterile media fill procedures to maintain aseptic conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant sterile environment in the compounding areas, including proper cleaning, disinfecting, and environmental monitoring activities.
  • Verify and prepare ingredients, calculations, and labels for compounded medications to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Follow all state and national regulatory requirements and internal standard operating procedures related to sterile compounding and pharmacy operations.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment, primarily filling prescriptions at the bench and assisting with other pharmacy tasks as needed.
  • Pivot to answer phones and support telehealth pharmacy operations when required, while maintaining focus on production and compounding responsibilities.
  • Document all compounding activities accurately and completely, including batch records, logs, and quality control documentation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill development in sterile compounding techniques and regulatory compliance.
Essential Skills
  • Current registration as a pharmacy technician in the state of Florida.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a sterile compounding pharmacy technician.
  • Hands-on experience with daily sterile IV compounding.
  • Demonstrated experience working with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines and Category 3 compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in sterile gowning, sterile sampling, sterile fingertip glove techniques, and sterile media fills.
  • Ability to follow detailed compounding procedures and maintain strict aseptic technique.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations, labeling, and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, production-focused pharmacy environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Sterile compounding experience from a hospital setting preferred.
  • PTCB certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience compounding capsules, nasal sprays, creams, troches, injectables, and peptides.
  • Comfort working in a telehealth-oriented pharmacy setting.
  • Willingness to expand compounding skills under the guidance of experienced pharmacy leadership.
Work Environment

This role is 100% onsite in a closed-door sterile compounding pharmacy located in Jupiter, Florida. You will work in a controlled sterile environment with strict adherence to gowning and aseptic procedures. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no direct patient contact. The setting is team-oriented, where you will primarily work at the bench filling compounded prescriptions and occasionally pivot to answer phones in support of telehealth pharmacy operations. The environment emphasizes regulatory compliance, quality, and collaboration, offering the opportunity to grow your compounding expertise in a stable, production-focused setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
