Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the 2024-25 academic year, allowing you to focus your expertise within a single site and build meaningful relationships.

In this role, you will provide in-class assistance, resource room support, and one-on-one guidance, ensuring that students receive the encouragement and help they need throughout their lessons. The district values a collaborative approach, with strong supervision, an open-minded culture, and a commitment to supporting every student’s unique learning style.

Key Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in a special education setting is highly valued
  • Ability to provide individualized, compassionate support to children and youth
  • Willingness to collaborate with teachers and behavior teams
  • Effective communication skills
  • Commitment to school policies and SD state onboarding requirements, including introductory training and completion of fingerprinting if necessary

Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment within classrooms and resource rooms
  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction as directed by the supervising teacher
  • Support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
  • Assist with lesson implementation and encourage student engagement
  • Maintain clear communication with staff and document daily progress
