American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical position in Michigan, requiring a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active or pending MI RN license.
Details- Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit (37 beds) caring for a wide variety of patient types
- Specialties include gastrointestinal, urological, and gynecological surgeries, as well as general medical, ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, and oncology patients
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- 36 or 48-hour week options available
- Staffing ratio of 1:5–6 on nights; may flex to 1:8 with LPN support
- Works every other weekend
- Floating to other Med/Surg units required, typically approximately once per week
- Travelers are given float priority over permanent staff
- Active Michigan RN license required; pending license accepted with ETA provided
- Current BLS certification (AHA); pending accepted with confirmation of intent to obtain
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred
- Must be available for the full first two weeks of the assignment
- References required for consideration
- Proof of flu vaccination required; exemption requests must be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing
- Provide care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population including general medical, surgical, GI, urology, gynecology, ortho/neurovascular, and cardio/pulmonary cases
- Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and techs
- Orientation includes non-billable self-reported modules completed during and annually after onboarding
- Holiday coverage is required; holiday time off cannot be guaranteed
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions; travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month gap before returning
- Any background check findings should be disclosed upfront for consideration
