Position: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Plainview, TX 79072

Shift: Day, 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)
 

Job Summary:
The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse provides immediate and critical nursing care to patients experiencing acute illnesses, injuries, trauma, or medical emergencies. The ER RN rapidly assesses patient conditions, prioritizes care based on severity, administers treatments, collaborates with healthcare providers, and ensures high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Duties

  • Perform rapid patient assessments and triage according to the severity of illness or injury.
  • Monitor, assess, and document patients' vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as prescribed.
  • Assist physicians with emergency procedures, trauma care, and life-saving interventions.
  • Initiate and manage IV access, cardiac monitoring, and other emergency equipment.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrests, strokes, respiratory distress, and trauma cases.
  • Provide wound care, splinting, and other emergency nursing interventions.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
  • Prepare patients for admission, transfer, surgery, or discharge as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Compact or TX state RN license.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency RN experience.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS, TNCC certifications.
