Lead PET/CT / Nuclear Medicine Technologist

HDHV is seeking a Lead PET/CT/Nuclear Medicine Technologist to guide and support our imaging team. In this role, you will not only perform advanced nuclear cardiology imaging procedures, but also serve as a clinical leader, ensuring quality, compliance, workflow optimization, and staff development.

Role and ResponsibilitiesClinical & Technical Duties
  • Start IVs and perform blood draws.
  • Safely prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals (nucleotides) in accordance with radiation safety protocols.
  • Perform and oversee imaging on both SPECT and Cardiac PET/CT systems.
  • Ensure competency in post-processing of SPECT and PET cardiac studies.
  • Monitor and respond to signs and symptoms of adverse reactions during stress testing.
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients and confidently answer questions regarding cardiac protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of radiopharmaceutical usage and procedures performed.
  • Perform daily, monthly, and annual quality control on imaging systems and in the hot lab.
  • Maintain compliance with radioactive materials licensing and safety standards.
Lead Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary clinical lead for Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT imaging services.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and onboarding for technologists and support staff.
  • Ensure adherence to department protocols, regulatory compliance, and quality standards.
  • Oversee workflow, patient scheduling coordination, and daily operational efficiency.
  • Act as a resource and subject matter expert for cardiac nuclear imaging.
  • Collaborate with physicians and leadership to optimize imaging protocols and expand services.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory, supply ordering, and radiopharmaceutical procurement.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure readiness for inspections/accreditation.
  • Manage and audit logs (radioactive materials, biohazard, QC documentation).
  • Stay current on advancements, innovations, and best practices in nuclear cardiology.

  • Assist with scheduling, patient coordination, and cross-functional support as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Current certification: ARRT(N) and/or CNMT.
  • Active state license (if applicable).
  • CT certification/training preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong background in cardiac nuclear imaging.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Excellent technical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with IV placement and blood draws.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and assist patients physically.
