You'll assess, plan, and manage individualized nutrition care for patients across the hospital, working closely with physicians, nursing staff, and the broader care team to support recovery, disease management, and overall wellness through evidence-based practice.
This is a great fit for an RD who wants meaningful clinical work with flexible, as-needed hours - or a new graduate ready to apply their training in an acute care setting.
What You'll Do
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nutritional care for patients across the hospital
- Develop individualized nutrition care plans in collaboration with the care team
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients
- Apply evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to support patient outcomes
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Current CDR registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN)
- Illinois LDN licensure, or eligibility upon hire
- Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross), or obtained within 90 days of hire
- Solid understanding of clinical nutrition principles and medical nutrition therapy
- Acute care experience and nutrition counseling experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply
Why Gateway Regional
- Competitive pay: $32.38–$48.58/hr, based on experience and qualifications
- Flexible PRN scheduling
- Retirement savings plan with employer matching (based on eligibility)
- A collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team
- A supportive, inclusive work environment
We're a community hospital with a mission that goes beyond the job description: compassionate, personalized care, delivered by people who genuinely want to be here. If that sounds like you, we'd love to talk.
Final compensation is determined in partnership with HR based on experience, certifications, and skills relevant to the role.
