Dean's Professional Services is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Specimen Technician to join a high-volume laboratory team in Lewisville, TX. This role is essential in supporting accurate and timely diagnostic testing through proper specimen handling and processing.

Position Overview

As a Specimen Technician, you will play a key role in daily laboratory operations by receiving, processing, and preparing patient specimens with precision and efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enter or grow within the healthcare and laboratory field.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and process patient specimens in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
• Perform high-volume data entry with speed and accuracy (6,000+ keystrokes/hour preferred)
• Prepare specimens for testing, including centrifugation and aliquoting
• Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and timely delivery of specimens to laboratory departments
• Follow all safety, compliance, and quality standards in a biohazard environment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
• Communicate effectively with team members and internal departments
• Adapt to changing priorities and workflow demands

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong data entry and basic computer skills
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Previous laboratory, medical, or production experience preferred but not required
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
