Location: Lewisville, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00/hour

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Specimen Technician to support a high-volume laboratory environment in Lewisville, TX. This role is essential in ensuring accurate specimen processing and timely delivery of results that directly impact patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing functions including pre-sort, accessioning, centrifugation, aliquoting, and specimen distribution
• Accurately enter patient and specimen data while maintaining high productivity standards
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, and tracking of specimens according to laboratory protocols
• Transport and deliver specimens to appropriate laboratory departments
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in a biohazard environment
• Monitor and prioritize workload to meet departmental turnaround times
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines
• Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and team members
• Adapt to changing priorities and workflow demands in a fast-paced production environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong data entry skills (high accuracy and speed required)
• Basic computer knowledge required
• Previous laboratory, medical, or specimen processing experience preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and work in a biohazard environment
