Job Description
Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Nights
Location: Yuma, AZ
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 36–48 hours per week
Pay Rate: $43/hour (Local Candidates Only)
A leading healthcare facility is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality direct patient care in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting. This role involves working closely with an interdisciplinary team to support patient health, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and performing treatments within scope of practice
- Monitor and document patient conditions, responses to treatments, and progress
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Participate in shift reports and ensure continuity of care
- Assist with patient admissions, assessments, care plans, and ongoing evaluations
- Support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Maintain adequate medical supplies and medications
- Respond promptly to emergency situations
- Supervise support staff and assist in training and orientation of new employees
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives
- Active or temporary LPN license in the State of Arizona
- Minimum 1+ year experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility
- Current negative TB test within the last 12 months
- Ability to attend an in-person interview
- Local candidates only
Knowledge of:
- Geriatric/gerontological nursing practices
- Patient care planning and treatment implementation
- Pharmacology and medication administration
- Healthcare regulations and nursing standards
Skills in:
- Practical nursing techniques and patient care
- Observing and reporting patient conditions
- Communication (oral and written)
- Team-based care coordination
Ability to:
- Assess patient needs and adapt care accordingly
- Work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Handle challenging situations with professionalism
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow protocols
- Night shift schedule with consistent weekday hours
- Contract position (13 weeks)
