Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Cloud Architect / Engineer to lead the design, migration, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure services to modern cloud platforms. This role will focus on transforming traditional on-premises environments into scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-based solutions, primarily within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
This individual will play a critical role in driving cloud adoption, modern workplace capabilities, automation, and AI-enabled operations, while ensuring strong governance, security, and change management practices.
Core Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture & Migration
- Lead end-to-end migration of VMware-based virtual infrastructure to Azure IaaS/PaaS services
- Design and execute migration strategies for:
- Active Directory (on-prem → Azure AD / Entra ID)
- SQL Server → Azure SQL / Managed Instance
- File services, application workloads, and supporting infrastructure
- Develop reference architectures, landing zones, and cloud governance frameworks
- Optimize workloads for cost, performance, and scalability in Azure
Data & Platform Modernization
- Lead migration and modernization of SQL databases to Azure PaaS services
- Ensure data integrity, performance tuning, and cost optimization post-migration
- Support broader platform modernization initiatives including API, analytics, and integration services
- Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Support network modernization initiatives including cloud connectivity, resiliency improvements, and automation of operational tasks
Cross-Team Partnership
- Drive adoption of automation technologies (e.g., Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot)
- Provide oversight of automation pipelines and governance controls
- Collaborate with the security team to enforce monitoring, auditing, and incident response readiness
- Implement solutions aligned with:
- NIST / CIS / ISO frameworks
- Enterprise change and risk management processes
Qualifications and Attributes:
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with at least 3–5 years in cloud architecture
- Proven experience with:
- VMware → Azure migration programs
- Active Directory modernization (hybrid and cloud-native)
- SQL Server migration to Azure PaaS
- Hands-on expertise with:
- Microsoft Intune
- Azure services (compute, networking, storage, identity)
- Strong understanding of:
- Security frameworks and enterprise change management practices
- Cloud governance, cost management, and operational controls
- Experience leveraging or integrating AI-enabled tools into workflows
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to interface across technical and executive stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure)
- Certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
- AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
- Experience with:
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)
- DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
