About the Role

Contract to hire - Fort Lawn, SC

  • Shift options available:
    • 1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
    • 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
    • 3rd Shift: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Loom Doffer to support our weaving operations by ensuring continuous production and efficient material flow. In this role, you’ll remove completed rolls, install new beams, and help maintain product quality while minimizing downtime.

You will work closely with production, maintenance, and material handling teams to keep looms running smoothly and safe

 

What You’ll Do

Support Production Flow

  • Remove full rolls from looms and replace them with new beams to keep production running
  • Monitor machines for roll completion or conditions requiring intervention
  • Assist with loom setup, style changes, and resets as needed

Handle Materials Safely and Accurately

  • Transport rolls and beams using equipment such as beam trucks, dollies, or forklifts
  • Confirm correct labeling and tracking of all materials
  • Ensure materials are staged properly for downstream processes

Maintain Quality Standards

  • Inspect rolls for defects, contamination, or damage
  • Ensure beams are installed correctly to prevent product issues (e.g., tension or defects)
  • Report recurring quality or production issues to the team

Promote Safety and Organization

  • Keep work areas clean and free of excess material or debris
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe lifting practices
  • Assist with waste removal, recycling, and housekeeping tasks

Track and Report Production Data

  • Record production metrics such as doff counts and beam numbers
  • Communicate machine issues, abnormalities, or safety concerns promptly

 

What You’ll Bring

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and remain active throughout the shift
  • Dependable team player with good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in textile manufacturing, production, or material handling
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts or material handling tools)

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Industrial setting with exposure to noise, machinery, and airborne fibers
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
