Senior Attorney (Plaintiff Personal Injury / Workers' Compensation)

A well-established and growing law firm in Garden City, Long Island, NY, is seeking a Senior Attorney with 5 to 7 years of plaintiff-side Personal Injury and/or Workers’ Compensation experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney passionate about advocating for injured clients and managing cases from inception to resolution in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury and/or workers’ compensation matters from intake through settlement, trial, or final disposition
• Conduct case evaluations and develop effective litigation strategies
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and legal correspondence
• Take and defend depositions, conduct hearings, and attend court appearances
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel
• Maintain regular communication with clients to provide strategic guidance and case updates
• Collaborate with support staff, paralegals, and firm leadership for efficient case management
• Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial strategy as needed

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in New York State
• 5+ years of experience handling plaintiff-side Personal Injury and/or Workers’ Compensation litigation

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong litigation, negotiation, and case management skills
• Proven ability to independently manage a substantial caseload
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Trial experience is a strong plus
