Hours: 1st shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm, 2nd shift 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Grinding Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Elgin, IL. In this role, you will set up, operate, and monitor grinding and related machinery used to remove excess material, deburr surfaces, sharpen edges, and polish metal or plastic components. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with precision measuring tools, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor grinding, deburring, honing, lapping, polishing, and related equipment.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Measure workpieces using tape measures, gauges, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Identify and troubleshoot machine operating issues.
- Load, lift, and position materials manually or with lifting equipment.
- Secure workpieces using clamps, chucks, faceplates, or other holding devices.
- Read and interpret specifications and perform accurate measurements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or quality concerns immediately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating grinding, deburring, polishing, or similar manufacturing equipment preferred.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to perform measurements accurately.
- Ability to identify quality issues and take corrective action.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift, move, and position materials as required.
