Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. This role works closely with management and employees to identify workplace hazards, implement corrective actions, and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of work areas, equipment, and processes.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements.
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
  • Facilitate employee safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
  • Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper safety practices are followed.
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures, drills, and preparedness activities.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and employees to promote continuous safety improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in workplace safety, construction safety.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct investigations, analyze data, and prepare reports.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, CSP, or First Aid/CPR are a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk job sites, climb stairs, and inspect work areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
