Irrigation Technician

Position Summary

Gomez Construction Services is seeking a skilled and dependable Irrigation Technician to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain irrigation systems for commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate will have experience working with irrigation controllers, valves, sprinkler heads, drip systems, and wiring, and must be fluent in both Spanish and English to communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and field crews.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair irrigation and sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation system issues, including leaks, broken pipes, valves, controllers, and wiring.
• Perform system inspections and identify needed repairs or improvements.
• Adjust sprinkler heads and irrigation schedules for proper water coverage and water conservation.
• Install and repair drip irrigation systems.
• Program and troubleshoot irrigation controllers and smart irrigation systems.
• Locate and repair underground leaks and damaged irrigation components.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, materials used, and completed work.
• Communicate effectively in both Spanish and English with clients, crew members, and management.
• Ensure compliance with local water regulations and company safety standards.
• Operate tools, equipment, and company vehicles safely.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of irrigation installation and repair experience.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation controllers, valves, sprinkler heads, backflow devices, and drip irrigation systems.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve irrigation system issues independently.
• Ability to read irrigation plans and layouts.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Fluent in both Spanish and English (required).
• Texas Irrigation Technician License or certification is preferred but not required.
