Bookkeeper
Location: Paramount
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and organized Bookkeeper / Junior Accounting Clerk to join our manufacturing and operations team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting functions (AP/AR), managing data entry, and assisting with inventory tracking and administrative duties. The ideal candidate possesses a strong baseline in manual bookkeeping, excellent reconciliation skills, and proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks and Master System.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain the general ledger, including preparation, verification, and control of all accounting entries.
- Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions, including invoice processing, matching, and verification.
- Enter and maintain accurate financial data within QuickBooks and Master System accounting software.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for company accounts, verifying cash deposits, cleared checks, and bank transactions.
- Prepare monthly A/R and A/P schedules, reconcile discrepancies, and support account balancing activities.
- Assist with month-end closing processes, reporting, and audit preparation while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Communicate professionally with vendors and internal departments regarding billing, payment inquiries, and financial procedures.
Inventory & Administrative Support
- Maintain inventory records for resin materials and assist with overall inventory tracking.
- Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail, maintaining highly organized digital and physical accounting files.
- Assist with general administrative tasks, office support, and special projects as assigned.
Operational Excellence
- Meet established financial deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies quickly and accurately.
- Support continuous improvement efforts within accounting and administrative workflows.
Qualifications
Required:
- 1–2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related experience.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks required.
- Strong knowledge of manual accounting and standard bookkeeping procedures (AP/AR, reconciliations, general ledger).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data entry) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy when handling confidential financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with Master System accounting software.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
