2nd shift 1:30pm – 9:45pm
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support warehouse and production operations at our Teterboro facility. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, staging, and transporting raw materials and finished goods while ensuring inventory accuracy, safety, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company quality standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse operation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Receive incoming raw materials, packaging components, and production supplies.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy.
- Safely unload, inspect, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production departments according to manufacturing schedules.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP/WMS system.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities.
- Ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and food safety standards.
- Identify damaged, expired, or non-conforming materials and report discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and shipment preparation of finished products.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and inventory accuracy.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or prior forklift operating experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working in food, flavor, fragrance, pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems, ERP software, or warehouse management systems.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents, inventory reports, and production paperwork.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in warehouse and manufacturing environments.
Preferred Skills
- Shipping and receiving experience.
- Inventory control and cycle counting.
- GMP and food safety knowledge.
- Forklift and pallet jack operation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
