Pay: $75,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Therapist to join a residential treatment facility in Johnston, Iowa. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position working with clients in a structured residential setting.

The Licensed Therapist will provide individual therapy, group therapy, treatment planning, clinical documentation, crisis support, and ongoing therapeutic care to clients receiving residential treatment services. This role is ideal for a licensed clinician who is passionate about helping individuals work toward stability, recovery, and long-term success.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy as clinically appropriate.
• Complete biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required clinical documentation.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on each client’s needs, diagnosis, goals, and level of care.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups focused on mental health, coping skills, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, life skills, trauma, and recovery.
• Collaborate with clinical, medical, case management, behavioral health, and administrative teams to coordinate client care.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as clinically needed.
• Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and clinical support when necessary.
• Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and care coordination.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with facility, licensing, and regulatory standards.
• Support discharge planning and aftercare coordination to promote continuity of care.
• Maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards of care.
• Ensure all services are delivered in a trauma-informed, client-centered, and culturally responsive manner.

Qualifications

• Active Iowa license as an LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or LISW required.
• Previous experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, mental health, or dual diagnosis setting preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
• Comfortable providing individual and group therapy.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication, organization, and crisis intervention skills.
• Compassionate, professional, and client-centered approach to care.

Compensation

• $75,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience.
