Special Education Paraprofessional Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to work with our students who require additional educational support. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff to provide students with the best learning experience possible. This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, patience, and the ability to think quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Special Education Paraprofessional Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Provide one-on-one instruction and support to students with special educational needs
• Monitor and support students’ progress in completing assignments and meeting IEP goals
• Assist in the implementation of classroom and schoolwide behavior management plans
• Maintain student records and track progress over time
• Participate in IEP meetings and review student records
• Assist with classroom and playground supervision and activities

Special Education Paraprofessional Requirements and Qualifications

• Associate degree in special education or related field
• Prior experience working with special education students is preferred
• Knowledge of IEPs and behavior management plans
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Patience and compassion for students with special needs
• Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
• Physically able to assist students in the classroom and on the playground
