Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour (varies by experience)
Location: Concord, NH 03301
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, up to 5 days per week (up to 40 hours); first, second, and third shift openings; rotating weekend coverage as scheduled
Start: Immediate openings (ongoing pipeline)
Duration: 13+ weeks with extension opportunities

About the Role
ShareSTAFF is hiring Mental Health Workers (MHWs) - also known as Mental Health Technicians, Behavioral Health Technicians, Psychiatric Technicians, or Patient Care Technicians - for inpatient assignments at an acute psychiatric care facility in Concord, NH. In this role, you support adult patients in acute inpatient psychiatric settings, working under the direction of the Charge RN to monitor patient behavior and well-being, assist with activities of daily living, support therapeutic activities, and help maintain a safe therapeutic environment for individuals living with mental illness. We maintain an ongoing pipeline of current and upcoming openings on first, second, and third shift. This role is open to New Hampshire residents only.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor patient behavior and communicate observations to the Charge RN and treatment team
  • Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to support patients experiencing emotional or behavioral distress
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, grooming, meals, and mobility
  • Support and facilitate therapeutic, recreational, and social group activities as directed by the treatment team
  • Assist with patient admissions, including contraband checks, valuables logging, and unit orientation
  • Escort and supervise patients during internal and external activities, including medical appointments and legal proceedings
  • Monitor and document patient observational levels and behavioral observations in accordance with facility policy
  • Assist with crisis intervention and behavior management interventions in accordance with facility policies and your level of training
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment in accordance with infection control and safety standards
  • Reinforce patient treatment goals and report critical changes to the RN or Nursing Coordinator
  • Respond to emergency situations as directed by nursing staff
What You Bring - Required
  • Must currently reside in New Hampshire (the facility accepts local candidates only)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (in-person course required; online-only certifications are not accepted)
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification, or willingness to complete CPI training during facility orientation
  • Willingness to work 8-hour shifts, up to 5 days per week (up to 40 hours), including first, second, or third shift and rotating weekend coverage as scheduled
  • Must be able to complete pre-placement requirements
What You Bring - Preferred
  • Previous experience as a Mental Health Worker, Mental Health Technician, Behavioral Health Technician, Psychiatric Technician, or Patient Care Technician
  • Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric care, or mental health settings
  • Experience in state psychiatric hospital, forensic psychiatric, or geriatric psychiatric settings
  • LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant), CNA, or DSP (Direct Support Professional) experience
  • Familiarity with patient observation protocols and electronic documentation systems
  • Coursework in mental health, psychology, social work, or a related field
