Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, modify, and repair sheet metal ductwork and HVAC systems according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and layout plans.
- Measure, cut, bend, fabricate, and install sheet metal components.
- Install ductwork, hangers, supports, dampers, and related HVAC components.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper alignment, sealing, and support of installed duct systems.
- Coordinate work activities with project supervisors, mechanics, and other trades.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job site requirements.
- Assist with material handling and job site organization as needed.
- Complete assigned tasks within project schedules and productivity goals.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of commercial or industrial sheet metal experience.
- Experience installing HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and installation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Preferred
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience with commercial HVAC systems.
- Experience operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, or forklifts.
- Trade school or sheet metal apprenticeship training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
