We are hiring an EHS Coordinator. The Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting all EHS programs while developing further EHS skills through completion of EHS department projects.
Focus of the position will be on driving EHS improvements with the end goal of risk reduction and injury prevention. Employee will provide support in department continual improvement and hazard recognition activities scheduled by EHS, as well as participate in the incident reporting and response process. Works with plant personnel and EHS leadership to ensure compliance with applicable regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and implementation of best practices. Supports internal EHS systems and completes required activities at the direction of EHS department. Responsible for EHS training and coaching as required by EHS programs. This position serves as a point of contact regarding EHS issues at the facility and helps to ensure Corporate EHS Policies and Procedures are followed. This position interacts regularly with all areas of the facility.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Effectively lead new hire safety orientation and training
Ability to work in a team environment focusing on meeting Safety standards; Lead various safety focus teams as needed and directed
Collects applicable data and submit to EHS Leadership
Assists in coordinating safety activities
Ability to act as point of contact for any safety related issues
Assists in ensuring compliance with all regulatory related laws and standards
Ensures safety related inspections are completed
Maintain oil storage, universal/hazardous waste areas in the facility
Desired Experience
1-3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent and/or safety related degree/certification
Working knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations (General Industry)
A self-motivated, multi- tasker that utilizes a strong work ethic for a 24/7 facility
Strong interpersonal, organizational, record keeping, and leadership skills with the ability to establish working relationships quickly
Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner via formal written and oral means to all levels of management and plant personnel
Ability to present material to groups of varying sizes and experience levels
Strong MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Solid understanding of safety policies and procedures preferred
Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety compliance (SPCC, RCRA, etc.) preferred
Recent or upcoming graduates with a focus in occupational safety are encouraged to apply!
