Job Description
The Shift Manager oversees day-to-day restaurant operations by evaluating business volume, ensuring adequate staffing, and maintaining high standards of service. This role is responsible for delivering a positive guest experience by ensuring food and beverages meet quality standards, monitoring health and safety compliance, and enforcing proper cash handling procedures. The Shift Manager also serves as a leader and role model, promoting professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to company policies while maintaining effective communication across all departments.
In addition, the Shift Manager supervises staff by assigning tasks, managing schedules, monitoring attendance, and supporting training and development. They handle customer interactions, resolve complaints, and assist in service as needed, while also overseeing inventory, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as knowledge of food and beverage operations, POS systems, and compliance with regulations. Flexibility, the ability to work under pressure, and maintaining a positive, customer-focused environment are essential to success in this position.
