Job Description
Reason position exists:
To coordinate health, safety, and training programs that support a safe work environment and ensure development of a skilled workforce. Provide audit services for safety and training programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Ensure safety practices comply with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations
Research, develop, and implement programs to promote safe work practices
Coordinate, schedule, conduct, and track annual AWAIR / Right to Know and other required training
Support data collection and recordkeeping/reporting for environmental services in plant
Ensure proper labeling of materials and PPE postings
Conduct new hire safety orientation
Perform safety audits and handle regulatory communications as needed
Lead workers' compensation first report of injury / accident investigations
Maintain accurate and timely OSHA, EPA, and regulatory recordkeeping
Chair employee-driven safety committee
Track and input operational safety/environmental data (water usage, hazardous waste manifests, etc.)
Act as a safety advocate across the organization
Develop and execute internal safety audit schedules; submit corrective actions to management
Recommend improvements to quality and safety systems
Work with management to implement safety improvements
Follow all company policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with ISO, NADCAP, and other regulatory standards
Participate in cross-training opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives
Contribute ideas for process and safety improvements
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies or related field
Strong communication skills across all levels of management and employees
3+ years manufacturing experience with strong understanding of operations, quality, and safety
Strong project management and organizational skills
Ability to plan, schedule, and execute tasks effectively
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NADCAP, and related regulatory requirements
Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, 10-key)
Ability to travel up to 10% and oversee multiple locations (Indiana, Florida, and Mexico)
Passport required for international travel
