Service Technician

Location: Portland, OR

Pay: $27–$32/hour

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to support the maintenance and repair of industrial smokers and refrigeration systems. This position combines field service (50% travel) and shop-based work, offering a dynamic opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, hands-on work, and customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial smokers and refrigeration units
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Assist with equipment installation, setup, and startup
  • Travel to customer sites nationwide (~50% travel after training)
  • Work independently in the field while staying connected with internal teams
  • Support shop operations including testing, repairs, and equipment prep
  • Accurately document service work, findings, and repairs
  • Follow all safety standards and company procedures
  • Represent the company professionally in customer-facing environments
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong experience in:
    • Refrigeration systems
    • Electrical troubleshooting
    • Mechanical repair
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Electrical schematics
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Technical manuals
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs
Preferred Experience
  • Experience servicing industrial smokers, ovens, or commercial refrigeration
  • HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical certifications/training

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
