Job Description
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into an impactful opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist, supporting a K-8 student population in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time contract role offers a consistent weekday schedule from 7:55 AM to 3:30 PM. You will play a key role in ESY (Extended School Year) and NSY (Non-School Year) programs, creating meaningful change through individualized and group-based interventions for young learners.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license (OT) for New York State
- Previous experience working in school settings (K-8 preferred)
- Strong understanding of best practices in pediatric occupational therapy
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt interventions for a wide range of developmental levels
- Skilled in delivering both 1:1 and group therapy sessions
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct 16 individualized (1:1) sessions and 25 group sessions each week, focusing on students’ unique goals
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop and monitor progress on IEP goals
- Design and implement engaging therapy interventions that promote student participation and functional independence
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes in compliance with school and regulatory standards
- Participate in team meetings to support student success across academic and social settings
- Support ESY/NSY programming, ensuring continuity of services year-round
