Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description

The General Production Worker operates manual and automated machines to support the production of engine heads. You will load and run parts, follow detailed work instructions, use precision measurement tools to verify quality, and help keep the production process running smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual and automated machines to assist with the production and assembly of engine heads.
  • Load parts and components into machines according to work instructions and production schedules.
  • Read, understand, and follow written work instructions, job travelers, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collect and organize required materials, tools, and equipment before starting each job.
  • Run parts through the machines, monitor operations, and make basic adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Use micrometers and other measurement tools to inspect parts and verify they meet specifications.
  • Perform visual inspections of parts to identify defects, irregularities, or nonconforming conditions.
  • Document inspection results as required and communicate any quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Handle hand and power tools safely and correctly during production and disassembly tasks.
  • Work in areas such as disassembly, block line, and reman disassembly as assigned.
  • Use basic computer skills to enter data, send emails, and navigate simple systems related to production.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while working safely around oil, grease, and other production materials.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe machine operation practices.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by learning new tasks and rotating to different areas to support production needs.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to operate manual and automated production machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using micrometers and other precision measurement tools to inspect parts.
  • Basic understanding of computers, including typing and sending emails.
  • Comfort using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reading instructions and interacting with the team.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks, processes, and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a loud, dirty environment with exposure to oil and grease while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferred: 6+ months of production experience.
  • Preferred: 6+ months of hand and power tool usage.
  • Preferred: 6+ months of computer usage in a manufacturing environment.
  • Interest in engines and engine components, including engine heads and testing equipment, is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work in different areas such as disassembly, block line, and reman disassembly as needed.

Work Environment

The work environment is a welcoming production facility where employees are friendly, supportive, and engaged. The shop focuses on engine-related work and uses a mix of manual and automated machines, precision measurement tools such as micrometers, and specialized equipment including dynos and engine testing machines. The setting can be loud, and work often involves exposure to oil, grease, and other engine-related materials, so you should be comfortable getting dirty while still maintaining a relatively clean and organized workspace. Training is a key part of the culture, and employees may rotate through different areas such as disassembly, block line, and reman disassembly to find the best role and broaden their skills. The primary schedule is a first-shift role, typically Monday through Thursday from approximately 6:00–6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Fridays from approximately 6:00–6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., supporting a consistent daytime work routine.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
